Plymouth 2020 Partnership

Plymouth 2020 partnership

Plymouth has a Local Strategic Partnership which is branded as Plymouth 2020. This is because we have a vision we are aiming to achieve by the year 2020, which is to be recognised as 'one of Europe's finest, most vibrant waterfront cities, where an outstanding quality of life is enjoyed by everyone'.

Based firmly on the principle that many issues facing the city and its community today can only be tackled and resolved if all parts of the community work together, Plymouth 2020 Partnership is an important and effective way to enable this.

The Partnership brings together many organisations and groups that are involved in making decisions that affect the future well-being of the people of Plymouth.

The voluntary, community, business and public sectors are all represented within Plymouth 2020 Partnership and together aim to achieve our ambitious vision to be recognised as 'one of Europe's finest, most vibrant waterfront cities, where an outstanding quality of life is enjoyed by everyone'.

It has four Theme groups covering ‘Healthy’, ‘Wealthy’, ‘Safe & Strong’ and ‘Wise’.

Plymouth aspires to be a truly inclusive city where everyone can live free from discrimination and have fair and equal access to services. Where people from different backgrounds get on well together and residents, visitors and workers can all enjoy the full benefits of city life.

As the elected Safe and Strong community rep I work very closely with the service providers.

In this capacity I attend multi-agency meetings to highlight relevant community issues:

* Monthly Stonehouse HOTSPOTS meetings

* Monthly Community Cohesion meetings
